Si può dimagrire senza rinunciare a niente? Pare di sì. Almeno secondo un team di ricercatori guidati da Daniele Piomelli che lavora presso l’IIT di Genova e all’università di Irvine.

Secondo i ricercatori si può bruciare la ‘ciccia’ anche senza fatica, palestra o diete rigide. Come? Riducendo una droga prodotta naturalmente naturalmente nel cervello, una molecola simile ai cannabinoidi della marijuana, il metabolismo dei grassi si accelera evitando così l’accumulo di chili di troppo.

Lo studio è stato pubblicato sulla rivista Cell Metabolism: gli esperti hanno ridotto la concentrazione dell’endocannabinoide 2-AG (2-arachidonilglicerolo) prodotto naturalmente nel nostro cervello, e osservato che quesro rende i topi ‘immuni’ dall’accumulo di chili, anche se mangiano in modo eccessivo e stanno sempre fermi. Gli scienziati hanno poi verificato che tutto ciò era scatenato proprio dalla riduzione di 2-AG nel cervello. Ciò vuol dire che il 2-AG cerebrale controlla la termogenesi, il processo attraverso cui il nostro corpo converte l’energia dei grassi in calore.
